Promises of spring

Last week, the fog turned into spectacular, scintillating coatings all over everything, making the whole world seem like an edible sugar-coated wonderland. Sure makes the cold more bearable, these days. And so does a little help from Robert Frost–one of my fav’s.

 The woods are lovely,

But I have

to keep,

And miles to go before I sleep,

And miles to go before I sleep.

~Robert Forst, Stopping by the Woods on a Snowy Evening

  1. My college literature prof was a lover of Robert Frost. Sometimes in the middle of a tough piece of Old English blah blah blah, she’d decide we needed a break and pull out her book of Frost poems. She has become a dear friend since then, and she still loves some Robert Frost. Now so do I!

  2. thank you, amy — a perfectly uplifting post in anticipation of spring. in my humble opinion, we should always seek out whatever it is that brings joy, not only for ourselves, but also so that we may share this joy with the world.

the woods is where i personally find the greatest spiritual connection and, as the equinox approaches, i thank you for the reminder. who knows what beauty will sprout from the earth in the coming weeks, and what will sprout in our lives — each year, it’s so very exciting to think about the possibilities!

may we all find joy and comfort in the beautiful unknown…
