Book and pecan combo giveaway to warm you up for the holidays!

unfurl

Snow’s falling and the first fire of the year is crackling in our fireplace as I type. The early onset of winter has folks cozy-ing up, hunkering down, and thinking of warm recipes and hearthside gatherings and Thanksgiving.

As such, I have a giveaway to warm your heart and your palate!

The rules are simple. Leave a comment, including one of a few of your favorite things of the holiday season. From the comments, one winner will be chosen at random and will win a signed copy of How Sweet the Sound,

AND

your choice of either 1) a combo tin of pecans OR 2) a one pound bag of baking pecans straight from B & B Pecan Company, my favorite pecan farm in the world which happens to be located in the very setting of my novel, How Sweet the Sound.

Things can get pretty crazy during the holiday season, with traffic and consumerism, frightful weather and “needful things,” but my prayer is that this giveaway will be a warm and peaceful spot in the heart of one lucky winner. The book will take you away to the Alabama gulf coast. And the pecans, well…who can resist the taste of these little morsels ripened under the summer sun and in the ocean breeze?

The contest will run throughout this week, so pass it along.

Winners will be announced Friday morning.

Best wishes to all, and warm hugs from our home to yours!

  1. Where to start with some of my favorite things about Christmas! I love sitting on the couch with my wonderful husband sharing the warmth of the lights on the tree. Another thing that brings back wonderful memories are all the ornaments on the tree that I brought back from when I lived in Germany. Our tree topper is an angel with a lovely countenance whose face and hands are made of wax. We have a crèche and pyramid from Germany also. But best of all is having our small family together. We are blessed.

  2. Hi Amy,

This is a wonderful giveaway. Thank you for the opportunity to win your book and my favorite nuts. I have already purchased your book and enjoyed reading it so much. If I were to win, I would gift your book to someone who is in need of the inspiration within it’s pages. I am looking forward to the release of Then Sings My Soul.

There are so many things to love about the Holiday season, but if I have to choose just one, it would be the kindness, peace and love that it brings to humanity. I always pray that this time, it will make a lasting presence in all of us.

    Gratefully,
    Cindy

  3. This holiday I will be sharing my kitchen with my 14 year old granddaughter. We have the menu planned, I’ll shop and it will be a memorable, wonderful, messy time. My choice would definitely be #2: the baking pecans. What an amazing pie they would make. 🙂 Thanks Amy for your generosity. And your gift of writing that you’re sharing with us all.

  4. I love that during the Holiday season the world is reminded that Jesus is the Reason for the Season! Amy, thank you for this generous giveaway. 🙂

  5. My favorite part about Christmas is picking out fun gifts for my brother and seeing what he will pick out for me. One year I opened a glass roster filled with hot peppers. Another time it was a can of octopus. It is always something crazy. I display it in the house and makes me smile each time I see it.

  6. My favorite things ~ the clean air; warmth inside, little children at church singing and waving in their program, being with family…

I would like to read How Sweet the Sound ~ we love pecans here at our home on a hilltop ~ shared on FB, twitter, and Pinterest! Thanks for this opportunity to win!

  7. Hi Amy,

Love your book and looking forward to the next one! If I win–I’ll pass the book on to one of my Alabama friends.

What I love about the season? Being with family and pausing to say Thank You to the One who made it all.

  8. The thing I absolutely love about the holiday season is tradition. The tradition of going to Aunt Diana’s for Thanksgiving. The tradition of having grandma’s homemade noodles. the tradition of football on the tv in the living room while all the women drink pots and pots and pots and pots of coffee in the dining room.

  9. One of my favorite things about the holidays is remembering God’s blessings as I reconnect with my family. I’m SO thankful that we will be spending some time with all of my kids and grandkids this year. [Btw, I LOVE Fairhope, Alabama, too–we stopped by there this summer on vacation.] Blessings to you and your loved ones, Amy!

  10. One of my favorite things during the Christmas season are the memories that come flooding back as I take my mother’s and grandmother’s old ornaments out of their little individual nests of packing material to hang them carefully on the tree. I watch them sparkle as they reflect the lights and as I gaze into the fading glass globes I almost think I can see the faces of all the loved ones who once gathered in my parent’s living room to celebrate the birth of our Savior, and I feel the warmth and love all over again.

  11. As Thanksgiving quickly approaches, I find myself first most grateful for the reminder of slowing down to thank my Maker for the little things that I often over look or forget to thank Him for. I then find myself giddy with excitement for our annual road trip to visit my twin and her family where all the girls (little ones included) gather in the kitchen for hours preparing all sorts of good eats while the boys play shuffleboard and rummy and take cold walks around the frozen lake. Sitting around the Thanksgiving table each year with those I hold dear feels like a warm hug from the Lord.

I love your book and would share a copy with my friend who shares a similar journey.

Happy Thanksgiving and Holydays! : )

  12. The holidays…oh where to begin? I love the flavors that seem unique to the holidays: gingerbread, peppermint, and my mom’s homemade coconut cake. I love watching a snowfall from the comfort and warmth of my living room, with the fireplace in full blaze. I love gathering with my friends and family, sharing memories of the year past and planning our new year. Both my parents are from Alabama, and I was raised in Georgia. I am absolutely a fan of a wonderful southern story and I was raised on pecan pie! I would be so honored to receive a copy of an autographed book from an author that I can truly say “I knew her when……”. Congratulations on your success, and blessings for the same with your next book. Happy Holidays, dear Amy!

  13. Congratulations to Cindy Scheurr, whose name was randomly chosen by an online random name picker!!! Thank you all so much for visiting and sharing your beautiful Chrismas favorites. Have a blessed Thanksgiving, everyone!
