Old couple in an elevator. Day 5 of #25daysofgood

he patted her bum

with his free hand, the other gripping the arm

of the wheelchair. And then

his jowly cheeks quivered with a grin.
She stood to his right, holding on

for dear life to her walker.

“Sixty-nine years,” she smiled, and

I do

believe she blushed,

when she replied to my

question. How long

have you been

laughing and crying,

working and resting,

making love and making up,

gathering and letting go,

blushing,

withering,

healing,

reaching,

breathing,

choosing and forsaking,
