Blessed assurance. Day 10 of #25daysofgood.

That’s my good today.

Ministry comes in all shapes and sizes for Christians, whether caring for family, having integrity in our day jobs, volunteering, or whatever we do with our hands and hearts for Him.

Sometimes it’s exhausting.

Sometimes we wonder why bother.

Sometimes it feels like no matter how much we try to do the Lord’s will, we just keep getting it all so wrong.

Fear creeps in, with self-doubt right on its heels.

This verse caught my eye today, as I was praying and thinking and wondering about all the work I do, whether as a nurse or a mama, a wife or a writer.

I’m such a mess.

I’m so imperfect.

I make mistakes.

But I’m trying.

What a gift to know He sees my work.

What a gift to know He sees my crummy attempts to glorify Him.

What an incredible, amazing gift that He sees the whole world, and still has His eye on little old me.

Our God is good.

So very good.

Joy comes in the morning. Day 12 of #25daysofgood

We have some awfully pretty sunrises here in Indiana.

A reminder of the Lord’s promises to make all things new, including us.

A reminder of Psalm 30:4-5,

Sing praises to the Lord, O you his saints,

and give thanks to his holy name.

For his anger is but for a moment,

and his favor is for a lifetime.

Weeping may tarry for the night,

but joy comes with the morning.

The sunrise is good.

The Lord’s promises are good.

I almost missed it. Day 16, counting down #25daysofgood

Some trees in our yard are bare

already, fallen leaves brown and dry.

I almost missed

the single white daisy, blooming

as if to spite

the coming frost. “Don’t mind

me,” she says,

and goes right on blooming.
